| Welcome!Welcome to our Virtual Office. The practice of medicine has changed vastly over the years, doctors and patients are busier than ever. The internet is now a part of our lives and it is making inroads into the practice of medicine. Our website is designed for busy patients who would like to interact with their family doctor from the comforts of their home, office or car. We invite to explore our site and perform many of the same tasks you are accustomed to do over the phone (eg: ask the doctor a question, schedule a appointment) or link to some of our favorite medical sites. We hope that you enjoy your visit.
What is Family Practice/Our MissionFamily Practice is a branch of medicine that specializes in common medical problems for patients of all ages from infants to grandparents. Our mission is to provide prevention-oriented medicine, the cornerstone of quality medical care. Medicine is a collaborative process between patients and the physician. The doctor can only make lifestyle recommendation and prescribe medications, but it is the patient who actually has to do the hard work of making changes (whether they be diet or exercise, etc) and taking medicines as directed. If the patient is actively involved in their health, the collaboration will be a successful one. So be involved in your health, ask question about your conditions, medications and other recommendation. . .be an informed patient.
The Goal of Every VisitWe usually go to the doctor for a specific reason whether it be for a routine check-up or for a follow-up visit for some chronic condition (such as high blood pressure). If you go to the doctor for a with a new complaint it is good idea to prepare for your visit by answering some simple questions such as when did the problem start, does anything make it better or worse, what do you is the cause of the condition, etc. If you click the attached link, I have a created a form which asks you many of these same questions, fill out the information as best you can. When you have entered all of the information print a copy for yourself and click submit at the bottom of form so I have a copy when you come to see me. At the conclusion of your visit with us, you should be able to answer certain questions about your condition, such as its name, its cause, do I need medicine, do I need further testing, etc. As you may guessed, I have created yet another form to help coach you with questions (click this link). You can print this form and bring it with you to your visit and fill it out during your visit.
